Quetta: The Balochistan government on Monday announced its decision to conduct a feasibility study for the development of the coastal areas of the Lasbela district, a news source reported. Mir Abdul Rauf Rind, the chief minister’s coordinator, revealed this information following his meeting with the leaders of the district’s local fishermen community.

Rind recently visited Kund Malir, Gadani, and other coastal areas of the province where met with a delegation of the local fishermen and heard their issues. He said that the provincial executive would prepare the feasibility study soon; adding that the officials concerned would submit a report to CM Jam Kamal Khan.
He revealed that the provincial government had planned on promoting tourism along the coastal strip. He added that during the first phase, they would finalise several spots for tourism activities.

Rind stressed that they would resolve the issues of the fishermen on a priority basis. He added that 70% of Pakistan’s coastal strip passed through Balochistan; therefore, the provincial government would utilise all resources for ensuring the development of these areas. Furthermore, Rind said, that they would work keenly to provide required facilities to the local fishermen.
