Quetta: Governor Balochistan Amanullah Yasinzai has called for increased privatisation, according to a news report. He claimed that the private sector can help overcome issues of unemployment, poverty, and illiteracy in the province. He said that the available resources are far too meagre to handle the load of public sector concerns.
The governor was talking to a delegation led by Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M)’s Ahmad Nawaz Baloch. He observed that long-term planning is required to provide sustainable solutions for resolving the public’s issues. Yasinzai urged government officials to perform their duties honestly.
A delegation of COMSATS University, Islamabad, headed by Dr Tabraiz, also met with the governor. The group briefed the governor about the establishment of a university branch in Quetta.
Yasinzai advised the delegation to ensure the provision of water and security for the project, before construction work begins.
