Islamabad: The Balochistan government on Friday declared three major districts to be marble cities in a bid to attract investors to the province, a news source reported. The measure would also pave the way for the development of the districts with foreign and local investments in mining sector.

According to the details revealed, the Balochistan government has declared Loralai, Khuzdar, and Dalbandin to be marble cities. The provincial government will also set up dedicated markets in these districts. It expects that this branding and facilitation of the mining sector will create vast business opportunities for the investors.
A government official said that the initiative would uplift the living standards of the locals by creating employment opportunities for them. He added that around 30,000 locals would get access to employment opportunities. Based on the vast reserves of marbles in the three districts, the special markets would span across 500 acres and construction work will begin in near future, he said.

The official highlighted that the provincial executive would provide all facilities for carving marble stones for attracting maximum investment to the sector. He added that this measure would also meet the demand of different varieties of marble in the country and foreign markets.
