Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has issued instructions for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to stay on high alert during the expected heavy rains and snowfall in the province, according to news published on December 26.

As per the sources, the orders were issued in anticipation of the meteorological department’s forecast of heavy downpours and snowfall in several northern, eastern and central districts of Balochistan. In view of the alert, the provincial management has been warned to stay on high alert.

The chief minister asked for district administration, PDMA and related institutions to be fully prepared to deal with any emergency and ensure the availability of relief goods in all districts. Moreover, instructions were given for heavy machinery should be deployed to keep all roads functional. CM Bizenjo instructed district administrations to set up control rooms and ensure the presence of heavy machinery to remove snow from the roads of, Khojak Top, Ziarat Kan Mehtarzai, Luck Pass and Bolan Pass.
