Under the approved plantation drive, the authorities concerned will plant 250 million new saplings and trees throughout the province. Out of the total cost incurred for the operation, the federal government has pledged to provide 75% of the funds needed.
The successful execution of this plantation campaign is expected to expand the province’s total forested area, as well as help in protecting the wildlife species indigenous to Balochistan.
The approval came during the recent meeting of the provincial cabinet, chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan.
