Quetta: The Balochistan cabinet on Thursday provided its approval to a health insurance facility for 1.8 million families residing in the province, according to a news source. Under this policy, each family member will be able to get treatment of up to PKR 1 million at both public and private hospitals.

The cabinet also extended contracts of 1,493 male and female teachers under the Global Partnership Education Balochistan Project. Further, a committee was set up to figure out a plan of action and submit the recommendation to the chief minister for the regularization services of the teachers.
Also during the meeting, the cabinet increased funds from PKR 50 million to PKR 200 million for the digitization of Land Records Management Information in four districts, namely, Quetta, Pishin, Jaffrabad and Gwadar. This move will lead to better transparency and assessment of land record.

Lastly, the meeting decided to meet all requirements of approval by the Pakistan Medical Commission for Jhalawan, Loralai and Turbat Medical colleges. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also approved between Balochistan Health Department and the Indus Hospital for building a Childhood Cancer Unit in Quetta.
