Quetta: The Balochistan government has decided to bifurcate Lasbela district and make a new Hub district, according to a news story published on Thursday (February 3).

As per the details, the proposal for the new district was presented at the cabinet meeting by the Senior Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhootani. The cabinet, after discussion, approved the new district of Hub.
Furthermore, the new district will comprise Hub, Dureji, Sakran, Winder, and Gaddani. The provincial minister mentioned that having a new district was a long-standing demand of the people.
In another development, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo on Thursday (February 3) met the British High Commissioner to discuss British investment in various sectors of the province. In the meeting, it was decided that Balochistan’s Board of Investment and Trade will consult the British Deputy High Commissioner for trade opportunities.

Moreover, the chief minister briefed the British High Commissioner on the progress of the Reko-Diq project. He further added that once the work on the project starts again, the confidence of foreign investors in the province will be strengthened. Reportedly, Britain has helped Pakistan under the Department for International Development (DFID) and UK Aid in different fields including health, scholarships, girls’ education, child and maternal health, climate change, and education. He disclosed that more than 200 British companies have invested in the country.
