Quetta: The Balochistan government has allocated funds worth PKR 108 billion for development projects in its budget for the (fiscal year) FY2019-20, a news source reported.

Finance Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi presented the provincial budget in Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday. As part of the budget announcement, the executive has announced a 10% increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees.
The finance minister announced that 150 new federal-sponsored development projects will be initiated in the province. These uplift schemes are in addition to 100 projects being financially supported by foreign donors.
Moreover, water projects in Balochistan would receive funds worth PKR 28 billion while PKR 1.60 billion has been allocated for sports and tourism. The government has also allocated PKR 19.7 billion for industrial development.

In addition, the province will also receive funds worth PKR 2.81 trillion from the federal government. For gas development surcharge, the province will receive PKR 10 billion. Meanwhile, the mining sector will receive funds worth PKR 2.50 billion, and livestock and forests will receive funds worth PKR 2.98 billion.
