Lahore: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa, while speaking to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Mian Tariq Misbah, said that he would visit LCCI soon to brief the members on upcoming business opportunities in Gwadar, a news source reported January 29.
The chairman further assured the LCCI of holding a business meeting Gwadar in March. Speaking to the LCCI President Misbah, Bajwa said that work on CPEC projects is in full swing where prime focus is on projects that are under development. He stressed on the need for presenting CPEC as an initiative targeting regional connective to help make Pakistan emerge as a country that is being developed economically.

Bajwa further stated that the prime objective developments planned under the CPEC is to improve lives of people of Pakistan. The mega projects planned under the initiative include integrated transport and Information Technology systems such as roads, ports, rail tracks and data communication channels, he added.
Speaking at the occasion, Misbah said that the government should give the same tax concessions and incentives to the local business community as that being offered to the Chinese investors. This will provide level playing field to entrepreneurs from both countries.
