Karachi: The contractors registered with Bahria Town’s project in Karachi have announced a donation of PKR 50 million for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams, reported a news source. The campaign to collect funds for the dams was initiated by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, which is also taking care of the donations collected by the fund.
Reportedly, the contractors have been requested by the Bahria Town Chief Executive Officer Ali Riaz Malik to contribute in the dams’ fund. The commitments made by the contractors to donate PKR 50 million for construction of the two dams will materialise soon, where the funds will be credited in the bank account opened on the orders of the apex court.
Bahria Town has also expressed eagerness in playing its role in helping Pakistan deal with water shortage.
