Lahore: The Punjab Police has partially locked down Bahria Town Lahore after health authorities detected 22 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the society, a news source reported. The authorities concerned further deployed security officials outside the residences of the families affected.

Previously, the local police department had placed the entire Raiwind City under lockdown after detecting hundreds of positive cases of novel coronavirus in the locality. Moreover, following the emergence of 22 COVID-19 cases in Bahria Town Lahore, Saddar Division SP Syed Ghazanfar said that 90 police officials were deployed to guard the society’s different blocks.

Ghazanfar revealed that security officials had closed all but two entrance and exit points of Bahria Town Lahore. He further stated that the authorities concerned had asked residents to practice social distancing within the society’s commercial markets as a preventive measure to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Meanwhile, police have placed a complete ban on the general public’s entry inside Bahria Town Lahore.
