Karachi: The Bahria Town Karachi administration has sent notices to the scheme’s residents providing notification of its decision to implement a new water billing policy – according to posts shared on Facebook. This framework is expected to be implemented from April 1, 2020, onwards.

As per the circular issued on December 30, 2019, the Bahria Town Karachi administration will commence with the installation of water meters in all households of the society. The notice further mentions that the management can no longer continue with the provision of free-of-cost water to its residents, since it has to incur high expenditure on this front.

Despite severe shortage of potable water in Karachi, Bahria Town has been supplying clean water to the residents of its Karachi project for the last four years.
Zameen.com contacted Bahria Town’s helpline to seek details on the new water charges, but could not procure the required information.
