Bahawalpur: The government has finalised its arrangements pertaining to the inauguration of the new building of the Bahawalpur Railway Station, a news source reported. As per officials, the inauguration is scheduled to take place on September 6.
They stated that the building was recently completed at a cost of PKR 280 million and was ready for operations. Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed is expected to do the honours of the inauguration.

The project was initiated in 2017 and was calendared to be completed by the end of 2018; with a budget of PKR 200 million. However, owing to the slow pace of development activities and some unexpected hurdles that impeded the construction process, the project was completed this year.

As per reports, the three-storey building has been developed after a state-of-the-art model and is equipped with waiting areas with attached bathrooms, booking office, reservation office, shops and canteens to cater to the passengers and offer conveniences. The administrative offices are set up in the basement and have been given ample space.
