Bahawalpur: Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has directed the administration to prepare a master plan for the development of Bahawalpur city, according to news published in the leading newspaper on January 31.

In a high-level meeting, the governor asked the Bahawalpur Commissioner Raja Jahangir and Deputy Commissioner Zahid Parvaiz Warraich to prepare a master plan for the city, which must be comprehensive and cover the provision of all basic amenities. As per the details, the governor stated that there is a need to resolve all the basic problems of the residents.
Moreover, Punjab Governor Rehman ordered the administration to take measures for establishing a modern slaughterhouse and a cattle market to meet the latest requirements. He further added that the construction work on Jhangra Eastern Dual Carriageway must be expedited so that the city could be connected to Sukkur-Multan Motorway.

During the meeting, the commissioner briefed the governor about the measures being taken for the restoration of the collapsed sewerage system in different parts of the city. He also revealed that a synthetic athlete track, at the cost of PKR 370 million, is being developed at the local stadium.
