Tashkent: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday announced plans to introduce Azerbaijan’s Asan Khidmat service model in Islamabad, aiming to streamline public service delivery through a one-stop access system.
During his visit to the Asan Khidmat (ASAN XIDMAT) centre in Baku, PM Shehbaz lauded the facility for its efficiency, modern technology, and comprehensive service integration. The centre provides over 400 services from 30 government and 15 private institutions under one roof, ensuring a seamless experience for citizens.

Highlighting the need for similar reforms in Pakistan, the prime minister stated that while Pakistan already has public service centres in Punjab and other regions, Baku’s model stands out in terms of scale and technological advancement. He expressed his commitment to launching a pilot project in Islamabad based on this system and announced plans to sign an agreement with Azerbaijan to facilitate its implementation.
“We would love to benefit from Azerbaijan’s experience. I would be happy to have a replica of this in Islamabad,” PM Shehbaz remarked, inviting a team from the Asan Khidmat centre to visit Pakistan and explore collaboration opportunities.

Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation, Ulvi Mehdiyev, briefed the prime minister on the centre’s role in ensuring transparent, accountable, and efficient service delivery. He also introduced the Mobile Asan Khidmat service, which includes specially designed buses and a train that deliver essential public services directly to communities.
Following the visit, PM Shehbaz left Baku for Tashkent, reaffirming his commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s public service infrastructure through international best practices.
