Under this programme, 120 youth ambassadors in the newly-merged tribal districts (NMTDs) have been enrolled to create awareness among citizens about the local body elections and the integral functions of the local governance system. This programme was launched under the KP Local Government Act 2019, and will have 85 men and 35 women appointed as district coordinators and youth ambassadors in the NMTDs.

Such programmes aim to bring these areas into the mainstream following their merger with KP. Bangash, who is helming this initiative, stated that various subdivisions of these districts have been notified as Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs), as per the law. These TMAs will provide the people living in these NMTDs with essential municipal services, among other things.
