Islamabad: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has initiated a cleanliness awareness campaign at various sites across the country, aiming to create a clean and green environment to attract a higher number of tourists, claimed by a news source on September 4.

According to the shared details, a visitor to the Pakistan Monument voiced his concerns about the need to clean up the national monument. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, especially given the continuous visits by both domestic and foreign dignitaries. He urged PTDC and other relevant authorities to initiate the cleanliness drive at prominent sites such as the Pakistan Monument, Faisal Mosque, and Lake View Park, ensuring a pollution-free environment for visitors to enhance their experience.

Another tourist, Hadi Bux Chacher, who explored the world’s oldest historical and archaeological site, Mohen-jo-Daro in Sindh, highlighted the lack of cleanliness mechanisms at the site. He observed that people were disposing of various items of garbage haphazardly, causing the site to lose its charm. Chacher stressed the importance of educating the public to refrain from littering at tourist spots, emphasizing the need to maintain cleanliness to preserve the historical significance of such sites.
