Islamabad: Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari launched the ‘Global Launch of the Automation of the Power of Attorney (PoA)’ for Overseas Pakistani, a news source reported on February 15.

As per the details, the said digital platform will offer Overseas Pakistanis an efficient solution for availing power of attorney service without having to appear in person at the consulates and embassies. The launch of the digital platform was organised at the Foreign Office and was attended by State for Foreign Affairs Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Foreign Secretary Dr Asad Majeed khan, NADRA Chairman Dr Tariq Malik, and Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary Syed Hussain Tariq.
FM Bilawal, during the launch ceremony, stated that this digital service is a huge step towards facilitating the Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRP)s. He went on to say that the automation for attestation and legalisation of power of attorney was a longstanding demand of NRPs. This automated system will decrease the costs of travelling to Pakistani missions and provide attestation services at the doorsteps of overseas Pakistanis.

According to details shared by the NADRA, the authority has designed, developed, and implemented a web-based solution for the digital issuance of PAO. It was highlighted that nine million overseas Pakistanis will be able to avail this facility from the comfort of their homes.
