Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to start the rehabilitation work on the roads and communications infrastructure in the flood-hit areas by Friday, according to news published in the leading newspaper on August 31.

PM Shehbaz held a meeting to review the work on the rehabilitation of the flood-hit areas and asked the Power Division to submit a report on the restoration of the power supply. He instructed the concerned authorities to restore the road connectivity between Kalam and Swat by next week. He also asked to repair the power transmission network of Balochistan soon. The premier also stated that no delay in the restoration of Gwadar’s transmission line will be tolerated.

Moreover, the PM has asked Power Minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir to visit Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) to monitor the rehabilitation work. He also instructed the chief executive officers of the power distribution companies were asked to ensure their presence to resolve the complaints of the public.
