Islamabad: Austrian companies are looking to invest in power generation projects in country including Dasu Dam and Mohmand Dam, a news source quoted Austrian Ambassador to Pakistan Nicolaus Keller. These companies are especially interested to invest in these dams.
Keller shared these views during his meeting with Federal Minister for Power Umar Ayub. The meeting was held on Thursday where the two discussed various options regarding invest opportunities in several on-going and planned power projects. Ayub briefed Keller on the small and large-scale power production projects that are underway in the country.
Pakistan is aggressively moving forward with increasing its resources for water conservation. In this regard, construction of at least two major dams is in the pipeline; Diamer-Bhasha Dam and Mohmand Dam. For these mega projects, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar set up a fund, officially known as “The Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund”.
So far, an amount worth PKR 7.97 billion has been collected in the fund. At the moment, CJP is on a trip to Britain to raise funds for the dams. As soon as there is an update on how much money was raised during this visit, Zameen News will keep you posted.
