Gwadar: The Seaken-Mv, an Australian cargo ship, arrived in Gwadar Port on Sunday, delivering 21,000 tonnes of urea through Afghan transit trade, according to media reports.

Last week, retired Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, Chairman of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, said that cargo ships have begun arriving at the Gwadar port, which is now fully operational. According to government sources, cargo ships carrying export and import items have been arriving at the port from all over the world.

The Afghan transit trade has been active since 2020 , and several freighters transporting urea have landed at Gwadar port. While greeting the Australian ship, authorities indicated that once the port is fully functioning, it will offer employment opportunities for residents.
