Multan: The Auqaf Department has been asked to retrieve its land near Qasim Bagh Stadium from encroachers and illegal occupants, a news source reported. Orders to this effect were issued by Commissioner Multan Division Imran Sikandar Baloch.
Baloch ordered the officials concerned to check revenue record of the department’s land and submit certificates of the retrieved land. He also ordered the district administration to prepare a list of land occupied by land mafia.
Earlier, the commissioner officially initiated the city’s beautification plan by planting a sapling at Kalma Chowk. The beautification drive was successfully carried out in Newal, Lodhran, and Vehari.
In the first phase, all the central parks and green areas in the city will be beautified by planting different kinds of flowers and plants. Beautification of entry and exit points of the city will also be prioritised.
