Islamabad: The dual-track road of the Ataturk Avenue will be open for traffic from next week, a news source reported. The dual-track road spans from the Khyaban-e-Suhrawardy, to the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) Chowk.

The city officials revealed that in order to make the avenue ready for traffic, the departments concerned have been directed to complete the carpeting and black-topping of the road.
On the other hand, Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials stated that they have completed work on the drains, and other related work, on the project. They added that the compaction process was in its final stages.
The CDA officials revealed that the base and sub-base work on one section of the avenue was also progressing. This section of the avenue spans from the Fazal-e-Haq Road to the NADRA Chowk. The officials added that they expect to complete the work soon.

The authorities concerned began the dualisation of the Ataturk Avenue over three years ago. The aim of the project was to resolve the traffic congestion issues faced by the citizens of the capital city.
