Ashiana Housing project is completing at a fast pace and been continuously monitored by the Government of Punjab. The opposition and political rivals can accuse the project for hundreds of reasons but the fact remains that there is no other option for the lower middle class to afford a house of their own. But this mission would be accomplished only when the entire project ends successfully without any major corruption allegations.
The reports confirm that in less than a month’s time, 500 deserving families will be able to shift to their Ashiana Houses. The even bigger news for the people residing in Jhelum, Sahiwal, Sargodha and Faisalabad is that that Ashiana Housing Scheme will be launched in these cities as well. In the first phase of expansion, the 4 above-mentioned cities are picked out and there are chances that many other cities will also get such projects in near future.
The government of Punjab has been in contact with the district coordination officers of the mentioned cities to keep the processing foolproof. The speed and transparency of Ashiana Housing Project Lahore has been set as the role model for other cities. The coordinating officers are asked to follow the Lahore’s project as benchmark for the Ashiana Housing project in their respective cities.
Lately, the CM of Punjab coordinated with the commissioner of Lahore about initiation of bus service for the residents of Ashiana Houses. This is a clear proof that this project is not going to be abandoned after initial launch and authorities are serious to take it all the way to become a completely developed society, a dreamland for lower class. A link road will connect the Ashiana Houses with Ferozpur road and its construction has already begun.
A modern housing society for the poor folks at a very reasonable price and adjustable interest free monthly installments is a sign that Pakistan real estate sector has the potential to grow even if it is not targeting the elite class.
