Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Division Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Mehmood Satti has instructed the police officials to ensure implementation of all necessary precautions to handle any emergency scenarios in the light of predicted rain and snowfall in the Murree mountains in the coming days, according to national dailies on December 28.

RPO Satti has called for advance protective measures to be taken during the expected rain and snowfall season on the hills to prevent any repetition of the tragic consequences of the mismanagement earlier this year. It was highlighted that during the snowfall, traffic load increases which can cause traffic disruptions for which a comprehensive and efficient plan should be implemented. The department was also instructed to put up banners with awareness messages to guide the public.

Meanwhile, Secretary Punjab Emergency Service Department Dr Rizwan Naseer also scrutinised the emergency plan formulated to deal with snow storms in the hill station, so that any unforeseen scenarios could be responded to immediately. Mock drills for district officials were also held to ensure their preparedness.
