We at Zameen.com have been updating you on all the ins and outs of DHA Valley for quite some time now. We understand your concerns about the project as you haven’t been able to get possession of your properties even after waiting for years.
Today, we are going to shed some light on the recent go-ahead given by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif for action against civilians and military officials involved in the PKR 62 billion DHA Valley scam.
According to a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official, the COAS conveyed a message to the NAB chairman that no one involved in the scam be spared.
This raises an obvious question in my mind: Will NAB flex its muscles against Malik Riaz? Only time will tell what future holds in store for him.
Issue of Dadocha Dam
According to a news source, a retired Army officer submitted a complaint to NAB about the development of DHA Valley on the land allegedly allocated for the Dadocha Dam. Following this, the bureau authorised an inquiry in July 2012.
The case was later heard in July 2015 by a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court. The court sought explanations from both NAB and the Punjab government. I have no further clue about any further legal developments in the case.
Needless to say, Dadocha Dam has become a subject of dispute and only an official announcement, in this regard, from the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) will clarify its status further. For now, NAB’s probe into the DHA Valley project should be a cause of major concern for investors, who found themselves in an awkward position when DHA transferred funds for the project to Bahria Town in 2009.
Development of access road
In his tweet on January 5, Malik Riaz stated that the main access road for DHA Valley is being constructed and efforts are being made to complete it as soon as possible. The important part of the tweet is this: “…sincere apologies for inconvenience”. While I would not like to comment on this apology, I do believe the development of this road will prove to be favourable for the project.
Now that the COAS has directed NAB to take unbiased, stern action against all those involved in the DHA Valley scam, investors should heave a sigh of relief. I think NAB’s probe into the case will resolve all issues. Let’s adopt a wait-and-see policy for now and hope for the best.
Meanwhile, NAB has arrested Globaco (Pvt) Ltd Chief Executive Officer Hammad Arshad on charges of corruption in DHA City Lahore, where investors have been awaiting possession of their properties for years now.
What do think about all this? Share you view in the comments section below.
Any update regarding main acesss road leading to dha valley as per tweet of MR
Dear Nawaz,
I talked to a local agent about the access road. He told me that the road is actually being developed and will provide better access to the locality.

NAB want to be arest bahira town owner that way from 8 years now all problem make from him get hard money from people and give dream if the problem for dam now he is make new game transfer plot if you buy plot in Islamabad you get possession in Karachi bahira project if he have land available in Karachi I not think so 7000 more plot will adjust commercials
The developer took 61 billion plus and invested in other projects. He made billions from this 61 billion. what if he give the plot now? it will be he should give plot plus return the money and demage.
It is not now that the army chief has directed NAB. That was done 6 months ago. Even the newspaper headline said this from Dawn: “Raheel Sharif had green-lighted stern action against retired military officers and civilians involved in the Rs62 billion Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Valley scam around six months ago, sources in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have told Dawn.”. Nothing has changed, everybody knows the court had directed NAB this summer to investigate. What is the point of your article? You’re basically saying you’re as clueless as everybody else. Might as well have saved everybody’s time and not written.
Your blog is very unique in every way, the tips and information in this article is great and reliable.
A sincere effort from COAS office, but continuous follow up is most important. The real culprits must be apprehended and punished by the relevant authorities. Otherwise, the developers shall take their sweet time to accomplish their part of tasks. They shall keep using investor’s money on other projects.
I opine that the top Judiciary must have taken a Suo Moto action, long back. On the other hand Federal and relevant Provincial governments have also been doing minimal and ignoring the issues for reasons best known to them. It is not a rocket science after all !!
DHA must take full responsibility being the senior partner in JV and take immediate action for resolving the issue and taking stern action against the culprits within.
Suffering is the destiny of common buyers and they have to face it. But we still have a hope that every “Night is followed by a Dawn”
