Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has approved the construction of Arfa Karim Tower-II in Lahore, aiming to enhance the IT infrastructure in the province, according to a news source on March 13.

As disclosed in the details, this decision was made during a meeting where CM Maryam was briefed on projects like the IT City and Lahore Knowledge Park. Major players like Microsoft and Oracle have shown interest in these initiatives.
CM Maryam emphasised attracting IT companies from China and globally to set up offices in the IT City. Plans were discussed to establish campuses of renowned universities in Punjab. Deadlines were set for the establishment of the Lahore Knowledge Park and IT City, with outreach planned to top universities worldwide.

Additionally, a free Wi-Fi pilot project in Lahore was reviewed and approved, with priority given to installing Wi-Fi facilities at educational institutions, airports, railway stations, and bus stands. Senior ministers and key officials from various departments attended the meeting.
