Lahore: The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) asked the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to revise the power tariff for the export sector as per the decision made by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), a news source reported. As per the publication, APTMA Punjab Chairman Adil Basir wrote a letter regarding the issue to the LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mujahid Pervaiz Chatha.

Bashir stated that the APTMA members located in Lahore city and its vicinity were sent electricity bills with 7.5 cents per kilowatt-hour in addition to the surcharges. He further stated that the ECC had approved the electricity tariff of all-inclusive 7.5 cents per kilowatt-hour for the textile and other export sectors. The provincial chairman underlined that additional tariffs would put further burden on the textile industry.

Reportedly, Bashir suggested the LESCO CEO to revise the electricity bills for the month as per the ECC approval before the last payment due date – March 24.
