Rawalpindi: Punjab Small Dams Organisation has issued its approval for the construction of Mohra Shera Dam to meet the water needs of Rawalpindi, according to news published in the leading newspaper on April 5. The total estimated cost of the project is PKR 281.95 million.

The news source mentioned that after the completion of the project, it will irrigate 5,000 acres of land and provide clean drinking water to over 0.2 million people in the surrounding areas. The said project is expected to be completed within 18 months.

As per the details, the Punjab Small Dam Organisation has called for tenders from major dam construction companies by April 24. It was stated that the contract will be awarded in the first week of next month.
Moreover, the project will feature a state-of-the-art park where visitors can get engaged various recreational activities like paddle boating and motor boating. The park will comprise a variety of fruit plants and flowers to make it a tourist attraction.
