Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) approved a PKR 13.1 billion package to acquire land for the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on February 10.
An NHA official told reporters that work on the 288-kilometre section of the western corridor, which connects Burhan to Dera Ismail Khan, will commence soon. The project has been divided into five phases to ensure on-time completion.
Reportedly, development work on 335-kilometre portion of Karakoram Highway from Khunjerab to Rai Kot is complete, while the Hazara Motorway (Burhan-Havelian) will be finished next year. Work on the 120-kilometre Thakot-Havelian section will begin soon
