Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) has granted approval for the PC-I of six different schemes in Islamabad, a news source reported on June 9.

As per the details, approval for 5 new bazaars by CDA was given, under which five Sasta Bazaars will be setup. It also approved the construction of Bagh-e-Dastoor. The PC-I for constructing five new Sasta Bazaars, providing affordable food items, has been approved with a budget of PKR 734 million. These bazaars will be completed within two years at Tarnol Chowk, Sector H-11, Margalla Town Phase-II, Model Town Hummak, and Sector I-14.
Furthermore, the PC-I for the construction of Bagh-e-Dastoor at Constitution Avenue has been approved. This park, dedicated to raising awareness about the constitution, will be built on an area of 32 kanals with an estimated cost of PKR 81 million. It will feature fancy Pergolas, walkways, sit-outs, and wooden texture canopies.
In a significant step towards resolving water scarcity in the city, the CDA-DWP approved a PC-I of PKR 40 million to conduct a feasibility study for two proposed dams in Shahdara and Chiniot. This six-month project will include a comprehensive study of geological factors, hydrology, sedimentation, and socio-economic aspects.

Additionally, the CDA-DWP sanctioned a feasibility study, worth PKR 19 million, to explore the potential for recharging groundwater in Islamabad. This study aims to assess the feasibility of replenishing groundwater resources in the city.
To address waste management issues, the DWP approved the construction of a permanent Waste Transfer Station near the Sewerage Treatment Plant in I-9/1. With a budget of PKR 532 million, this station will streamline waste transportation operations, replacing the temporary facility currently being utilized.
