Lahore: Through a publication, the Punjab govt has invited applications for establishing day care centres in public and private institutions across the province. Private individuals will run and own the premises, while the government will provide a grant for managing the centres’ day-to-day affairs.
Reportedly, this initiative has been launched to facilitate working mothers. It is intended by the government as a contribution to the International Women’s Day 2019.
Both public and private institutes have been invited to apply for setting up day care centres. The grant provided by the government will include funds for the following:
- Furniture and other articles for establishment
- Staff salaries
- Payment of utility bills
The application forms can be downloaded from the Women Development Department (WDD) Punjab’s official website.

The grants will be provided by Punjab Day Care Fund Society (PDCF). PDCF was registered under the Society Act for provision of grants to interested organization for the establishment of day care centres. So far, the society has formalised 115 centres under this initiative.
