Lahore: The Punjab government’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing initiative is progressing rapidly, with over 18,000 houses nearing completion and construction of an additional 7,000 set to begin by the end of the month.
Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin shared these updates while chairing a meeting on Tuesday. Secretary Housing Punjab Capt (retd) Asadullah Khan briefed the attendees on project targets, while Chairman Akhuwat Dr. Amjad Saqib and President Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood provided insights into financing and progress.

Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency DG Sikandar Zeeshan highlighted challenges in project execution. Addressing the meeting, Minister Bilal Yasin emphasized that the government is not just making claims but delivering real results, with work continuing day and night to provide homes to deserving individuals.
The minister further stated that the initiative ensures interest-free and transparent loans for home construction. He added that 100,000 people will benefit from these loans annually, reinforcing the government’s commitment to affordable housing.
The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme aims to provide sustainable housing solutions for low-income families across Punjab, ensuring access to safe and dignified living spaces.
