‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ Scheme: PHATA opens help desk in RWP

Rawalpindi: PHATA Rawalpindi has established a help desk to assist citizens with the newly launched ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ housing scheme, according to a news source on August 23.

As per the details, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz initiated this scheme and it is designed to offer affordable housing options to low-income families in Punjab.

The scheme simplifies the application process and offers manageable instalment plans, focusing on workers and laborers. Eligible applicants must be Punjab residents with a monthly income below PKR 60,000 and should not currently own a home. The program provides interest-free loans of up to PKR 1.5 million for constructing homes on small plots, with a seven-year repayment period.

The project plans to build over 3,000 homes in each district, starting with cities like Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The help desk is part of the government’s broader initiative to make homeownership more attainable for low-income citizens.
