Lahore: The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has shared the details of domestic demand and exports for (Fiscal Year) FY2019-20, according to a news report published today (July 7).

Cement sales had recorded a decline in demand during the three months, following the announcement of coronavirus lockdown but the sales during June 2020 rose by 29.94% up to 4.623 million tons as against 3.557 million tons during June 2019.
The rise in domestic sales was relatively less pronounced with 19.63% at 3.835 million tons in June 2020 as against 3.206 million tons in June 2019. The exports, on the other hand, rose 123.89% to 0.787 million tons in June 2020, whereas during June 2019 the amount had stood at 0.351 million tons.

During FY2019-20, the cement consumption rose 1.98% to 47.81 million tons on the back strong export growth which stood at 19.8%, while the domestic consumption declined for the first time in six years by 1%.
