Islamabad: Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) revealed that almost all owners of residential apartment buildings in Islamabad do not possess the completion certificates required before populating the structures, according to a news source.
Representatives of the agency stated that over 30 plots had been sold in urban areas, where apartment buildings had been constructed, but the owners had not acquired the relevant completion certificate.
These certificates are issued after the building inspections are carried out, including reviewing the fire and safety arrangements, confirming the implementation of the building plan, and ensuring the structure’s stability.
Sources report that only one building possesses a completion certificate, and that there are many more buildings in rural areas which do not met the relevant requirements. Director Building Control Faisal Naeem said that the CDA has taken notice of this situation and would take appropriate action against apartment owners not possessing completion certificates. This action will also include commercial buildings not meeting all requirements.
