Karachi: Anti-encroachment operations continued in Karachi at full steam, with several encroachments on footpaths and roads removed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, according to a news source.
It was stated by sources that the anti-encroachment departments of the municipal administration carried out these operations in Nazimabad Block K, University Road, Mehran Town, Godam Chowrangi, Saddar, Empress Market, and Millat Park Nazimabad.
It was revealed that numerous encroachers such as hawkers, cabins, stalls, make-shift shops, and sugarcane juice machines were removed from the roads and footpaths they were encroaching on. Shades in front of the shops exceeding the limits were also demolished.
This operation was launched on the directives of Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar, and removal of these encroachments had also been ordered by the Supreme Court. Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers, along with police officials were present during the operations.
