Peshawar: The provincial government on Monday decided to start an anti-encroachment campaign in the district next week for successful implementation of the Peshawar Revival Plan, news sources reported.

A meeting was held with Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud. Focal Person for Mega Project MPA Asif Khan, Director General (DG) Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Ammara Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Peshawar Shama Niamat, DG Railways Samiullah Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Police Fazal Ahmad Jan, Director Environment Protection Agency (EPA), and officers of relevant departments attended the meeting.
The divisional commissioner was briefed on the measures taken for the implementation of the Peshawar Revival Plan and directed to speed up the efforts for its implementation.
During the meeting, Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of all four towns and traffic police were ordered to conduct a survey and submit the report within a week to launch an anti-encroachment campaign in the city.
According to the plan, the Town-I was directed to start operation against encroachments in the interior city, Town-II ordered to launch a campaign on Charsadda Road, Town-III to launch an anti-encroachment drive on University Road, while Town-IV was ordered to remove encroachments from Kohat Road.
Additionally, Pakistan Railways was ordered to start anti-encroachment operations on both sides of the railway track from Hashtnagri-Firdous to Nauthia and Hayatabad. Similarly, PDA was ordered to remove encroachments from Karkhano Market and Hayatabad. Also, PDA was directed to conduct a survey for all the illegal billboards and submit a report next week.

Sharing details about the first phase Peshawar Revival Plan, it was disclosed that plantation will be carried out on University Road, Ring Road, G.T Road and other highways. For this initiative, Forests Department and PDA will collaborate.
