Rawalpindi: To curb the problems associated with land encroachments, the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) has decided to launch a grand anti-encroachment operation, according to a news report. Rawalpindi Mayor Sardar Naseem Khan has said that the city is facing a lot of traffic issues and was thus making efforts to resolve these problems.
The MCR is facing a lot of financial constraints, along with a shortage of staff. However, they believe that an encroachment drive is necessary in the city. Previously, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) had also taken strict action against the land-encroachments in the city, and further action by MCR is targeted at making cities less congested.
