Quetta: The Government of Balochistan is all set to begin its anti-encroachment drive across the province starting July 22, a news source reported. The provincial executive will remove encroachments, as well as take action against land grabbers during the course of this campaign.

Following the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan, the provincial government earlier took the decision to launch the anti-encroachment drive on an urgent basis.
Chairing a meeting in this regard, Balochistan Minster for Revenue Saleem Ahmed Khosa, the focal person appointed to lead the operation, stated that in order to realise the CM’s vision, the government would clear the province’s public spaces of encroachments and take action against land grabbers.
Furthermore, he stressed on clearing the government land so that an equitable level of development can take place in all the divisions of the province; including in the small towns of Balochistan.
During the meeting, the minister instructed the divisional commissioners in attendance to submit a report after every three months regarding the progress of the campaign. Principal Secretary to CM Noor ul Ameen Mengal, also present at the session, said that the government would also identify and take action against any revenue department officials who were found to be backing the encroachments.

Mengal revealed that the provincial government had also approved housing projects at the district and town levels.
