Gujranwala: The authorities concerned will begin an anti-encroachment drive in Gujranwala soon, a news source reported. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Revenue Zeeshan Hanif instructed the Municipal Corporation, district council authorities, police, and traffic police on Wednesday, to prepare for the removal of encroachments from the city’s main roads.

The ADC announced that a comprehensive operation will begin next week in order to clear the city of encroachments. He added that the relevant authorities will monitor the daily performance of all departments in relation to the operation.
Hanif stated that encroachments had become a source of increasing inconvenience for the city’s public. Therefore, he added, they needed to address this issue through a major operation.

The ADC revealed that during the first phase of the drive, the relevant departments will clear GT Road of encroachments. He added that these departments will remove encroachments from other roads and markets in later phases of the operation.
