Lahore: During an operation carried out against encroachers on Band Road by Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Lahore Municipal Corporation, 164 shops were sealed, reported a news source. The operation is being carried out on orders issued by Lahore High Court.

Reportedly, the shops sealed during the operation were constructed without having their maps approved from the competent authority. To further implement the writ of the court on private housing schemes, the LDA Metropolitan Planning Wing and Directorate of Estate Management also carried out an operation against illegal housing schemes.

During this particular operation, the infrastructure in a total of six unapproved housing schemes was razed. The LDA staff demolished the boundary walls and site offices and razed sewerage systems and roads in the housing schemes that were involved in carrying out development work and selling plots to public without having their NOCs approved from the LDA.
