Another step to preserve Earth, Pakistan develops its first Green City!

The real estate developments of Pakistan are fueled by the sublime interest of investors which come in the shape effective attempts of securing the future of children and preparing dowry for daughters.  The people of Pakistan consider investing in real estate as one of the most viable means of securing their hard earned money against the inflation plaguing the country.

In such an instance, where the city expands, as developers always manage to find buyers and investors in the property sector of Pakistan, the country continues to grow short of its agricultural land and the ever increasing population continues to contribute to the increase in pollution through various means.

While the politicians debate on educating the population of Pakistan on various issues, DHA Karachi has found a more effective way to save the energy resources of Pakistan, in the face of a new sustainable and green city in Karachi.

Now most of us, including me, have rarely heard of plans about a sustainable city in our country, so let me shed some light on the topic. Sustainable and green cities are designed to protect our natural environment from all sorts of pollutants. Karachi, being the luckiest for gaining the first sustainable city of Pakistan is in for a seamless flow of electricity through wind and solar technologies. The best part about this sustainable city is that it’s being developed by DHA Karachi so we know that the project would be literally dragged into the physical plane of reality despite the obstacles.

The environment friendly, renewable sources of power generation to be utilised in DHA City Karachi include solar plants and wind farms. The location chosen for the new city is rich in underground water reserves to there would be no shortage of clean water in the new city.

DHA Karachi has envisioned its new development to be the first smart city of Pakistan featuring the state of the art communication system. The project is in its execution phase and is planned to be a complete walled city which is 2.5 times larger than the existing DHA Karachi. Apart from imparting international education through various schools, colleges and universities, the development will also feature world-class sports and recreational facilities along with the biggest medical city complex of Pakistan.

DHA City Karachi is one of the cities I plan to keep an eye out for, because as we head into the future Pakistan would definitely find itself in dire need of sustainable and renewable energy resources to cater its ever increasing population.
