Lahore: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has released a list of projects it completed in 2018, a news source reported. Besides completing the restoration work on several sites, WCLA opened several new tourism avenues.
According to the list, the authority restored Barood Khana (the British era arsenal depot inside Lahore Fort), Musaman Gate of Lahore Fort, Royal Kitchens in Lahore Fort, Western Suites, Royal Toilets on the left side of Akbari Gate, Western suites of the Jahangiri Quadrangle. It also carried out a cleanliness drive on the backside of Jahangir’s Quadrangle and repaired Deewan-e-Aam.
WCLA also announced the discovery of two tunnels inside Lahore Fort, while removing wild plantation and rubbles. The authority would soon begin restoration work on Bhatti Gate trail as it has completed the necessary documentation. The documentation of Mariam Zamani Mosque was also completed in 2018 and a study was conducted on the detailed structural analysis and fresco work.
