Karachi: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue, Haroon Akhtar Khan stated that a amnesty scheme will be introduced before the upcoming budget, to meet the demand of the people, according to a news report. Speaking to pre-budget seminar of Pakistan Businessmen & Intellectuals Forum, he explained that government has already created a draft for the proposed amnesty scheme.
He said that the government will not abolish regulatory duty, because it is bringing in revenue between PKR 80 billion and PKR 90 billion. However, the laws to implement regulatory duty will be amended. He commended FBR on increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio to 12.5% and said that United States had become a superpower primarily because of its strong revenue.
