Islamabad: Under the tax amnesty scheme rolled out a couple of months ago, assets worth PKR 380 billion have so far been declared legally, reported a news source. Sources from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have revealed that the trend to avail the scheme has increased after the Supreme Court of Pakistan announced to not intervene in it.
The news report also claimed that local and offshore assets worth over 250 billion were turned white in the last couple of days alone, while payment slip IDs (PSID) for another PKR 435 billion have been issued, which is expected to cleared off in the next few days.
The tax amnesty scheme will reduce the undocumented money in the country and promote the concept of a documented economy. The FBR is hopeful to collect revenue worth PKR 100 billion under the tax amnesty scheme.
