Rawalpindi: The Punjab Cabinet has granted its approval to the transfer of Ammar Shaheed Chowk remodeling project to the Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB), according to a news report published August 28.
The project was to be previously managed by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). As per the new arrangements, the RDA will now transfer the funds allocated for the project to the Chaklala Cantonment Board.

According to previous news reports, the Punjab government had reserved funds worth PKR 754 million for the remodeling of Ammar Shaheed Chowk in its Annual Development Programme 2020-21. The project is deemed vital for getting rid of existing traffic issues in the city.
Due to undisclosed reasons, the government had dropped the project from its Annual Development Programme 2019-20. Given the importance of the project, the RDA requested the provincial government in February this year to handover the project to the Chaklala Cantonment Board as the Ammar Shaheed Chowk is located in its jurisdiction.
