The decision was made in the cabinet’s meeting, held under the chair of Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan. The newly amended law also enables the tehsil municipal administration to ‘oversee, supervise and exercise regulatory control’ over the establishment of any private housing scheme development.
Ajmal expressed hope that the amended law will attract investors to the province with the newly-simplified investing procedure. He also opined that the law will regulate the provincial construction sector. However, he also highlighted that the chief minister has directed the relevant departments to devise a strategy to prevent agricultural land from being converted into residential colonies.
