Islamabad: Pakistan Post – the federal mailing enterprise – on Tuesday has announced its partnership with the largest e-commerce marketplace ‘Amazon’ and will subsequently take on the role of being the latter’s official delivery partner in Pakistan, according to news sources.

The director general of Pakistan Post has already assembled a team to mobilize resources for this arrangement. It was also reported that the senior officials from nine major cities have been appointed to help local businessmen and traders to sell their products on Amazon.
In a bid to expand its footprint as Amazon’s delivery partner, Pakistan Post plans to establish warehouses and facilitation centres across big cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. Moreover, the government plans to choose a shipping company for transporting products through the sea route.

Pakistan Added to Amazon Sellers’ List
Earlier, on May 6, it was announced by Prime Minister’s Advisor on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood that Amazon has finally added Pakistan to the approved selling countries list.
The arrival of Amazon in Pakistan has opened new opportunities for small and medium enterprises, women, and youth entrepreneurs. It is a huge achievement for the e-commerce sector of Pakistan as Pakistani-made products will be available globally.
