Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Monday (October 18) directed the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) to expedite work on the drainage and water supply projects for the port city, news sources reported.

To this effect, CM Alyani directed the authority to expedite the installation of pipelines from the Sod Dam and Shadi Kaur Dam to address the growing water and drainage problems of the city. During a project review meeting held under the chief minister, the provincial administration briefed the participants about the ongoing development projects in the city aimed at the provision of basic infrastructure and provision of amenities to address the growing concerns of the locals.

In the meeting, CM Kamal also directed the GDA to carry out work for the modernisation of the Gwadar Jannat Bazar and Shahi Bazaar in the old Gwadar city. The meeting was attended by the Provincial Minister for Industrial and Commerce Muhammad Khan Toor Utmankhel, Commissioner Makran Division Shah Irfan Gharshin, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Abdul Kabir Khan, Xen PHE Raheel Bugti, Roads and Building Department officials and other senior officials.
